  7. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USE, REPRODUCTION, AND DISTRIBUTION
  8. 1. Definitions.
  9. "License" shall mean the terms and conditions for use, reproduction,
  10. and distribution as defined by Sections 1 through 9 of this document.
  11. "Licensor" shall mean the copyright owner or entity authorized by
  12. the copyright owner that is granting the License.
  13. "Legal Entity" shall mean the union of the acting entity and all
  14. other entities that control, are controlled by, or are under common
  15. control with that entity. For the purposes of this definition,
  16. "control" means (i) the power, direct or indirect, to cause the
  17. direction or management of such entity, whether by contract or
  18. otherwise, or (ii) ownership of fifty percent (50%) or more of the
  19. outstanding shares, or (iii) beneficial ownership of such entity.
  20. "You" (or "Your") shall mean an individual or Legal Entity
  21. exercising permissions granted by this License.
  22. "Source" form shall mean the preferred form for making modifications,
  23. including but not limited to software source code, documentation
  24. source, and configuration files.
  25. "Object" form shall mean any form resulting from mechanical
  26. transformation or translation of a Source form, including but
  27. not limited to compiled object code, generated documentation,
  28. and conversions to other media types.
  29. "Work" shall mean the work of authorship, whether in Source or
  30. Object form, made available under the License, as indicated by a
  31. copyright notice that is included in or attached to the work
  32. (an example is provided in the Appendix below).
  33. "Derivative Works" shall mean any work, whether in Source or Object
  34. form, that is based on (or derived from) the Work and for which the
  35. editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications
  36. represent, as a whole, an original work of authorship. For the purposes
  37. of this License, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain
  38. separable from, or merely link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of,
  39. the Work and Derivative Works thereof.
  40. "Contribution" shall mean any work of authorship, including
  41. the original version of the Work and any modifications or additions
  42. to that Work or Derivative Works thereof, that is intentionally
  43. submitted to Licensor for inclusion in the Work by the copyright owner
  44. or by an individual or Legal Entity authorized to submit on behalf of
  45. the copyright owner. For the purposes of this definition, "submitted"
  46. means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent
  47. to the Licensor or its representatives, including but not limited to
  48. communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems,
  49. and issue tracking systems that are managed by, or on behalf of, the
  50. Licensor for the purpose of discussing and improving the Work, but
  51. excluding communication that is conspicuously marked or otherwise
  52. designated in writing by the copyright owner as "Not a Contribution."
  53. "Contributor" shall mean Licensor and any individual or Legal Entity
  54. on behalf of whom a Contribution has been received by Licensor and
  55. subsequently incorporated within the Work.
  56. 2. Grant of Copyright License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
  57. this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
  58. worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
  59. copyright license to reproduce, prepare Derivative Works of,
  60. publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute the
  61. Work and such Derivative Works in Source or Object form.
  62. 3. Grant of Patent License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
  63. this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
  64. worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
  65. (except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made,
  66. use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Work,
  67. where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable
  68. by such Contributor that are necessarily infringed by their
  69. Contribution(s) alone or by combination of their Contribution(s)
  70. with the Work to which such Contribution(s) was submitted. If You
  71. institute patent litigation against any entity (including a
  72. cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work
  73. or a Contribution incorporated within the Work constitutes direct
  74. or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses
  75. granted to You under this License for that Work shall terminate
  76. as of the date such litigation is filed.
  77. 4. Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the
  78. Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or without
  79. modifications, and in Source or Object form, provided that You
  80. meet the following conditions:
  81. (a) You must give any other recipients of the Work or
  82. Derivative Works a copy of this License; and
  83. (b) You must cause any modified files to carry prominent notices
  84. stating that You changed the files; and
  85. (c) You must retain, in the Source form of any Derivative Works
  86. that You distribute, all copyright, patent, trademark, and
  87. attribution notices from the Source form of the Work,
  88. excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of
  89. the Derivative Works; and
  90. (d) If the Work includes a "NOTICE" text file as part of its
  91. distribution, then any Derivative Works that You distribute must
  92. include a readable copy of the attribution notices contained
  93. within such NOTICE file, excluding those notices that do not
  94. pertain to any part of the Derivative Works, in at least one
  95. of the following places: within a NOTICE text file distributed
  96. as part of the Derivative Works; within the Source form or
  97. documentation, if provided along with the Derivative Works; or,
  98. within a display generated by the Derivative Works, if and
  99. wherever such third-party notices normally appear. The contents
  100. of the NOTICE file are for informational purposes only and
  101. do not modify the License. You may add Your own attribution
  102. notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside
  103. or as an addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided
  104. that such additional attribution notices cannot be construed
  105. as modifying the License.
  106. You may add Your own copyright statement to Your modifications and
  107. may provide additional or different license terms and conditions
  108. for use, reproduction, or distribution of Your modifications, or
  109. for any such Derivative Works as a whole, provided Your use,
  110. reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with
  111. the conditions stated in this License.
  112. 5. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise,
  113. any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion in the Work
  114. by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of
  115. this License, without any additional terms or conditions.
  116. Notwithstanding the above, nothing herein shall supersede or modify
  117. the terms of any separate license agreement you may have executed
  118. with Licensor regarding such Contributions.
  119. 6. Trademarks. This License does not grant permission to use the trade
  120. names, trademarks, service marks, or product names of the Licensor,
  121. except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the
  122. origin of the Work and reproducing the content of the NOTICE file.
  123. 7. Disclaimer of Warranty. Unless required by applicable law or
  124. agreed to in writing, Licensor provides the Work (and each
  125. Contributor provides its Contributions) on an "AS IS" BASIS,
  126. WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or
  127. implied, including, without limitation, any warranties or conditions
  128. of TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, or FITNESS FOR A
  129. PARTICULAR PURPOSE. You are solely responsible for determining the
  130. appropriateness of using or redistributing the Work and assume any
  131. risks associated with Your exercise of permissions under this License.
  132. 8. Limitation of Liability. In no event and under no legal theory,
  133. whether in tort (including negligence), contract, or otherwise,
  134. unless required by applicable law (such as deliberate and grossly
  135. negligent acts) or agreed to in writing, shall any Contributor be
  136. liable to You for damages, including any direct, indirect, special,
  137. incidental, or consequential damages of any character arising as a
  138. result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the
  139. Work (including but not limited to damages for loss of goodwill,
  140. work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any and all
  141. other commercial damages or losses), even if such Contributor
  142. has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  143. 9. Accepting Warranty or Additional Liability. While redistributing
  144. the Work or Derivative Works thereof, You may choose to offer,
  145. and charge a fee for, acceptance of support, warranty, indemnity,
  146. or other liability obligations and/or rights consistent with this
  147. License. However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only
  148. on Your own behalf and on Your sole responsibility, not on behalf
  149. of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify,
  150. defend, and hold each Contributor harmless for any liability
  151. incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason
  152. of your accepting any such warranty or additional liability.

  379. If the program is interactive, make it output a short notice like this
  380. when it starts in an interactive mode:
  381. Gnomovision version 69, Copyright (C) year name of author
  382. Gnomovision comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `show w'.
  383. This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
  384. under certain conditions; type `show c' for details.
  385. The hypothetical commands `show w' and `show c' should show the appropriate
  386. parts of the General Public License. Of course, the commands you use may
  387. be called something other than `show w' and `show c'; they could even be

  389. You should also get your employer (if you work as a programmer) or your
  390. school, if any, to sign a "copyright disclaimer" for the program, if
  391. necessary. Here is a sample; alter the names:
  392. Yoyodyne, Inc., hereby disclaims all copyright interest in the program
  393. `Gnomovision' (which makes passes at compilers) written by James Hacker.
  394. <signature of Ty Coon>, 1 April 1989

  396. This General Public License does not permit incorporating your program into
  397. proprietary programs. If your program is a subroutine library, you may
  398. consider it more useful to permit linking proprietary applications with the
  399. library. If this is what you want to do, use the GNU Library General

  430. Linden Research, Inc. ("Linden Lab") Viewer FLOSS License Exception v0.5
  431. The Linden Lab Exception for Free/Libre and Open Source Software-only
  432. Applications Using Linden Lab Viewer Software (the "FLOSS Exception").
  433. Exception Intent
  434. Linden Lab is releasing the source code for certain software that
  435. enables users to view or otherwise access the Second Life virtual
  436. world environment (the "Viewer Software"), under version 2 of the GNU
  437. General Public License (the "GPL"). The creation or distribution of
  438. works based on the Program (as defined under the GPL) of the Viewer
  439. Software may require the use of certain Free/Libre and Open Source
  440. Software ("FLOSS") works that are subject to license agreements not
  441. compatible with re-licensing under the GPL. Because we want to allow
  442. the Viewer Software to be distributed with these FLOSS works, this
  443. FLOSS Exception following exception applies subject to the terms and
  444. conditions below.
  445. Legal Terms and Conditions
  446. As a special exception to the terms and conditions of version 2.0 of
  447. the GPL:
  448. You are free to distribute a work based on the Program that is formed
  449. entirely from the Viewer Software (and any modifications thereof) and
  450. one or more works that are independent and separate works not derived
  451. from the Viewer Software, and are licensed under one or more of the
  452. licenses listed below in section 1 (each, a "FLOSS Work") , as long
  453. as:
  454. A. You obey the GPL in all respects for the Viewer Software and any
  455. work based on the Program, except for the FLOSS Works, for which
  456. you must comply with B below,
  457. B. all FLOSS Works,
  458. i. are distributed subject to one of the FLOSS licenses
  459. listed below, and
  460. ii. the object code or executable form of the FLOSS Works are
  461. accompanied by the complete corresponding
  462. machine-readable source code for those FLOSS Works on the
  463. same medium and under the same FLOSS license as the
  464. corresponding object code or executable forms thereof,
  465. and
  466. C. any works that are aggregated with the Viewer Software or a work
  467. based on the Program on a volume of a storage or distribution
  468. medium in accordance with the GPL, and are not licensed under
  469. the FLOSS licenses listed below, are independent and separate
  470. works in themselves which are not derivatives of either the
  471. Viewer Software, a work based on the Program or a FLOSS Work.
  472. If the above conditions are not met, then the Viewer Software may only
  473. be copied, modified, distributed or used under the terms and
  474. conditions of the GPL or another valid licensing option from Linden
  475. Lab.

  786. GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
  787. Version 2, June 1991
  788. Copyright (C) 1989, 1991 Free Software Foundation, Inc.,
  789. 51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-1301 USA
  790. Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies
  791. of this license document, but changing it is not allowed.
  792. Preamble
  793. The licenses for most software are designed to take away your
  794. freedom to share and change it. By contrast, the GNU General Public
  795. License is intended to guarantee your freedom to share and change free
  796. software--to make sure the software is free for all its users. This
  797. General Public License applies to most of the Free Software
  798. Foundation's software and to any other program whose authors commit to
  799. using it. (Some other Free Software Foundation software is covered by
  800. the GNU Lesser General Public License instead.) You can apply it to
  801. your programs, too.
  802. When we speak of free software, we are referring to freedom, not
  803. price. Our General Public Licenses are designed to make sure that you
  804. have the freedom to distribute copies of free software (and charge for
  805. this service if you wish), that you receive source code or can get it
  806. if you want it, that you can change the software or use pieces of it
  807. in new free programs; and that you know you can do these things.
  808. To protect your rights, we need to make restrictions that forbid
  809. anyone to deny you these rights or to ask you to surrender the rights.
  810. These restrictions translate to certain responsibilities for you if you
  811. distribute copies of the software, or if you modify it.
  812. For example, if you distribute copies of such a program, whether
  813. gratis or for a fee, you must give the recipients all the rights that
  814. you have. You must make sure that they, too, receive or can get the
  815. source code. And you must show them these terms so they know their
  816. rights.
  817. We protect your rights with two steps: (1) copyright the software, and
  818. (2) offer you this license which gives you legal permission to copy,
  819. distribute and/or modify the software.
  820. Also, for each author's protection and ours, we want to make certain
  821. that everyone understands that there is no warranty for this free
  822. software. If the software is modified by someone else and passed on, we
  823. want its recipients to know that what they have is not the original, so
  824. that any problems introduced by others will not reflect on the original
  825. authors' reputations.
  826. Finally, any free program is threatened constantly by software
  827. patents. We wish to avoid the danger that redistributors of a free
  828. program will individually obtain patent licenses, in effect making the
  829. program proprietary. To prevent this, we have made it clear that any
  830. patent must be licensed for everyone's free use or not licensed at all.
  831. The precise terms and conditions for copying, distribution and
  832. modification follow.
  833. GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
  834. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COPYING, DISTRIBUTION AND MODIFICATION
  835. 0. This License applies to any program or other work which contains
  836. a notice placed by the copyright holder saying it may be distributed
  837. under the terms of this General Public License. The "Program", below,
  838. refers to any such program or work, and a "work based on the Program"
  839. means either the Program or any derivative work under copyright law:
  840. that is to say, a work containing the Program or a portion of it,
  841. either verbatim or with modifications and/or translated into another
  842. language. (Hereinafter, translation is included without limitation in
  843. the term "modification".) Each licensee is addressed as "you".
  844. Activities other than copying, distribution and modification are not
  845. covered by this License; they are outside its scope. The act of
  846. running the Program is not restricted, and the output from the Program
  847. is covered only if its contents constitute a work based on the
  848. Program (independent of having been made by running the Program).
  849. Whether that is true depends on what the Program does.
  850. 1. You may copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Program's
  851. source code as you receive it, in any medium, provided that you
  852. conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an appropriate
  853. copyright notice and disclaimer of warranty; keep intact all the
  854. notices that refer to this License and to the absence of any warranty;
  855. and give any other recipients of the Program a copy of this License
  856. along with the Program.
  857. You may charge a fee for the physical act of transferring a copy, and
  858. you may at your option offer warranty protection in exchange for a fee.
  859. 2. You may modify your copy or copies of the Program or any portion
  860. of it, thus forming a work based on the Program, and copy and
  861. distribute such modifications or work under the terms of Section 1
  862. above, provided that you also meet all of these conditions:
  863. a) You must cause the modified files to carry prominent notices
  864. stating that you changed the files and the date of any change.
  865. b) You must cause any work that you distribute or publish, that in
  866. whole or in part contains or is derived from the Program or any
  867. part thereof, to be licensed as a whole at no charge to all third
  868. parties under the terms of this License.
  869. c) If the modified program normally reads commands interactively
  870. when run, you must cause it, when started running for such
  871. interactive use in the most ordinary way, to print or display an
  872. announcement including an appropriate copyright notice and a
  873. notice that there is no warranty (or else, saying that you provide
  874. a warranty) and that users may redistribute the program under
  875. these conditions, and telling the user how to view a copy of this
  876. License. (Exception: if the Program itself is interactive but
  877. does not normally print such an announcement, your work based on
  878. the Program is not required to print an announcement.)
  879. These requirements apply to the modified work as a whole. If
  880. identifiable sections of that work are not derived from the Program,
  881. and can be reasonably considered independent and separate works in
  882. themselves, then this License, and its terms, do not apply to those
  883. sections when you distribute them as separate works. But when you
  884. distribute the same sections as part of a whole which is a work based
  885. on the Program, the distribution of the whole must be on the terms of
  886. this License, whose permissions for other licensees extend to the
  887. entire whole, and thus to each and every part regardless of who wrote it.
  888. Thus, it is not the intent of this section to claim rights or contest
  889. your rights to work written entirely by you; rather, the intent is to
  890. exercise the right to control the distribution of derivative or
  891. collective works based on the Program.
  892. In addition, mere aggregation of another work not based on the Program
  893. with the Program (or with a work based on the Program) on a volume of
  894. a storage or distribution medium does not bring the other work under
  895. the scope of this License.
  896. 3. You may copy and distribute the Program (or a work based on it,
  897. under Section 2) in object code or executable form under the terms of
  898. Sections 1 and 2 above provided that you also do one of the following:
  899. a) Accompany it with the complete corresponding machine-readable
  900. source code, which must be distributed under the terms of Sections
  901. 1 and 2 above on a medium customarily used for software interchange; or,
  902. b) Accompany it with a written offer, valid for at least three
  903. years, to give any third party, for a charge no more than your
  904. cost of physically performing source distribution, a complete
  905. machine-readable copy of the corresponding source code, to be
  906. distributed under the terms of Sections 1 and 2 above on a medium
  907. customarily used for software interchange; or,
  908. c) Accompany it with the information you received as to the offer
  909. to distribute corresponding source code. (This alternative is
  910. allowed only for noncommercial distribution and only if you
  911. received the program in object code or executable form with such
  912. an offer, in accord with Subsection b above.)
  913. The source code for a work means the preferred form of the work for
  914. making modifications to it. For an executable work, complete source
  915. code means all the source code for all modules it contains, plus any
  916. associated interface definition files, plus the scripts used to
  917. control compilation and installation of the executable. However, as a
  918. special exception, the source code distributed need not include
  919. anything that is normally distributed (in either source or binary
  920. form) with the major components (compiler, kernel, and so on) of the
  921. operating system on which the executable runs, unless that component
  922. itself accompanies the executable.
  923. If distribution of executable or object code is made by offering
  924. access to copy from a designated place, then offering equivalent
  925. access to copy the source code from the same place counts as
  926. distribution of the source code, even though third parties are not
  927. compelled to copy the source along with the object code.
  928. 4. You may not copy, modify, sublicense, or distribute the Program
  929. except as expressly provided under this License. Any attempt
  930. otherwise to copy, modify, sublicense or distribute the Program is
  931. void, and will automatically terminate your rights under this License.
  932. However, parties who have received copies, or rights, from you under
  933. this License will not have their licenses terminated so long as such
  934. parties remain in full compliance.
  935. 5. You are not required to accept this License, since you have not
  936. signed it. However, nothing else grants you permission to modify or
  937. distribute the Program or its derivative works. These actions are
  938. prohibited by law if you do not accept this License. Therefore, by
  939. modifying or distributing the Program (or any work based on the
  940. Program), you indicate your acceptance of this License to do so, and
  941. all its terms and conditions for copying, distributing or modifying
  942. the Program or works based on it.
  943. 6. Each time you redistribute the Program (or any work based on the
  944. Program), the recipient automatically receives a license from the
  945. original licensor to copy, distribute or modify the Program subject to
  946. these terms and conditions. You may not impose any further
  947. restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted herein.
  948. You are not responsible for enforcing compliance by third parties to
  949. this License.
  950. 7. If, as a consequence of a court judgment or allegation of patent
  951. infringement or for any other reason (not limited to patent issues),
  952. conditions are imposed on you (whether by court order, agreement or
  953. otherwise) that contradict the conditions of this License, they do not
  954. excuse you from the conditions of this License. If you cannot
  955. distribute so as to satisfy simultaneously your obligations under this
  956. License and any other pertinent obligations, then as a consequence you
  957. may not distribute the Program at all. For example, if a patent
  958. license would not permit royalty-free redistribution of the Program by
  959. all those who receive copies directly or indirectly through you, then
  960. the only way you could satisfy both it and this License would be to
  961. refrain entirely from distribution of the Program.
  962. If any portion of this section is held invalid or unenforceable under
  963. any particular circumstance, the balance of the section is intended to
  964. apply and the section as a whole is intended to apply in other
  965. circumstances.
  966. It is not the purpose of this section to induce you to infringe any
  967. patents or other property right claims or to contest validity of any
  968. such claims; this section has the sole purpose of protecting the
  969. integrity of the free software distribution system, which is
  970. implemented by public license practices. Many people have made
  971. generous contributions to the wide range of software distributed
  972. through that system in reliance on consistent application of that
  973. system; it is up to the author/donor to decide if he or she is willing
  974. to distribute software through any other system and a licensee cannot
  975. impose that choice.
  976. This section is intended to make thoroughly clear what is believed to
  977. be a consequence of the rest of this License.
  978. 8. If the distribution and/or use of the Program is restricted in
  979. certain countries either by patents or by copyrighted interfaces, the
  980. original copyright holder who places the Program under this License
  981. may add an explicit geographical distribution limitation excluding
  982. those countries, so that distribution is permitted only in or among
  983. countries not thus excluded. In such case, this License incorporates
  984. the limitation as if written in the body of this License.
  985. 9. The Free Software Foundation may publish revised and/or new versions
  986. of the General Public License from time to time. Such new versions will
  987. be similar in spirit to the present version, but may differ in detail to
  988. address new problems or concerns.
  989. Each version is given a distinguishing version number. If the Program
  990. specifies a version number of this License which applies to it and "any
  991. later version", you have the option of following the terms and conditions
  992. either of that version or of any later version published by the Free
  993. Software Foundation. If the Program does not specify a version number of
  994. this License, you may choose any version ever published by the Free Software
  995. Foundation.
  996. 10. If you wish to incorporate parts of the Program into other free
  997. programs whose distribution conditions are different, write to the author
  998. to ask for permission. For software which is copyrighted by the Free
  999. Software Foundation, write to the Free Software Foundation; we sometimes
1000. make exceptions for this. Our decision will be guided by the two goals
1001. of preserving the free status of all derivatives of our free software and
1002. of promoting the sharing and reuse of software generally.
  1003. NO WARRANTY
1004. 11. BECAUSE THE PROGRAM IS LICENSED FREE OF CHARGE, THERE IS NO WARRANTY
1005. FOR THE PROGRAM, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. EXCEPT WHEN
1006. OTHERWISE STATED IN WRITING THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND/OR OTHER PARTIES
1007. PROVIDE THE PROGRAM "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED
1008. OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
1009. MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS
1010. TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE PROGRAM IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE
1011. PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING,
  1012. REPAIR OR CORRECTION.
1013. 12. IN NO EVENT UNLESS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW OR AGREED TO IN WRITING
1014. WILL ANY COPYRIGHT HOLDER, OR ANY OTHER PARTY WHO MAY MODIFY AND/OR
1015. REDISTRIBUTE THE PROGRAM AS PERMITTED ABOVE, BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR DAMAGES,
1016. INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING
1017. OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PROGRAM (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED
1018. TO LOSS OF DATA OR DATA BEING RENDERED INACCURATE OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY
1019. YOU OR THIRD PARTIES OR A FAILURE OF THE PROGRAM TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER
1020. PROGRAMS), EVEN IF SUCH HOLDER OR OTHER PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
  1021. POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
1022. END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1023. How to Apply These Terms to Your New Programs
1024. If you develop a new program, and you want it to be of the greatest
1025. possible use to the public, the best way to achieve this is to make it
1026. free software which everyone can redistribute and change under these terms.
1027. To do so, attach the following notices to the program. It is safest
1028. to attach them to the start of each source file to most effectively
1029. convey the exclusion of warranty; and each file should have at least
1030. the "copyright" line and a pointer to where the full notice is found.
1031. <one line to give the program's name and a brief idea of what it does.>
  1032. Copyright (C) <year> <name of author>
1033. This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify
1034. it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by
1035. the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or
1036. (at your option) any later version.
1037. This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful,
1038. but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of
1039. MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. See the
1040. GNU General Public License for more details.
1041. You should have received a copy of the GNU General Public License along
1042. with this program; if not, write to the Free Software Foundation, Inc.,
1043. 51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-1301 USA.
1044. Also add information on how to contact you by electronic and paper mail.
1045. If the program is interactive, make it output a short notice like this
1046. when it starts in an interactive mode:
1047. Gnomovision version 69, Copyright (C) year name of author
1048. Gnomovision comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `show w'.
1049. This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
1050. under certain conditions; type `show c' for details.
1051. The hypothetical commands `show w' and `show c' should show the appropriate
1052. parts of the General Public License. Of course, the commands you use may
1053. be called something other than `show w' and `show c'; they could even be
1054. mouse-clicks or menu items--whatever suits your program.
1055. You should also get your employer (if you work as a programmer) or your
1056. school, if any, to sign a "copyright disclaimer" for the program, if
1057. necessary. Here is a sample; alter the names:
1058. Yoyodyne, Inc., hereby disclaims all copyright interest in the program
1059. `Gnomovision' (which makes passes at compilers) written by James Hacker.

1062. This General Public License does not permit incorporating your program into
1063. proprietary programs. If your program is a subroutine library, you may
1064. consider it more useful to permit linking proprietary applications with the
1065. library. If this is what you want to do, use the GNU Lesser General
1066. Public License instead of this License.

1158. If you want to understand how the JPEG code works, we suggest reading one or
1159. more of the REFERENCES, then looking at the documentation files (in roughly
1160. the order listed) before diving into the code.
  1161. OVERVIEW
  1162. ========
1163. This package contains C software to implement JPEG image encoding, decoding,
1164. and transcoding. JPEG (pronounced "jay-peg") is a standardized compression
  1165. method for full-color and gray-scale images.
1166. This software implements JPEG baseline, extended-sequential, and progressive
1167. compression processes. Provision is made for supporting all variants of these
1168. processes, although some uncommon parameter settings aren't implemented yet.
1169. We have made no provision for supporting the hierarchical or lossless
1170. processes defined in the standard.
1171. We provide a set of library routines for reading and writing JPEG image files,
1172. plus two sample applications "cjpeg" and "djpeg", which use the library to
1173. perform conversion between JPEG and some other popular image file formats.
1174. The library is intended to be reused in other applications.
1175. In order to support file conversion and viewing software, we have included
  1176. considerable functionality beyond the bare JPEG coding/decoding capability;
1177. for example, the color quantization modules are not strictly part of JPEG
1178. decoding, but they are essential for output to colormapped file formats or
1179. colormapped displays. These extra functions can be compiled out of the
1180. library if not required for a particular application.
1181. We have also included "jpegtran", a utility for lossless transcoding between
1182. different JPEG processes, and "rdjpgcom" and "wrjpgcom", two simple
1183. applications for inserting and extracting textual comments in JFIF files.
1184. The emphasis in designing this software has been on achieving portability and
1185. flexibility, while also making it fast enough to be useful. In particular,
1186. the software is not intended to be read as a tutorial on JPEG. (See the
1187. REFERENCES section for introductory material.) Rather, it is intended to
1188. be reliable, portable, industrial-strength code. We do not claim to have
1189. achieved that goal in every aspect of the software, but we strive for it.
1190. We welcome the use of this software as a component of commercial products.
1191. No royalty is required, but we do ask for an acknowledgement in product
1192. documentation, as described under LEGAL ISSUES.
  1193. LEGAL ISSUES
  1194. ============
  1195. In plain English:
1196. 1. We don't promise that this software works. (But if you find any bugs,
  1197. please let us know!)
1198. 2. You can use this software for whatever you want. You don't have to pay us.
1199. 3. You may not pretend that you wrote this software. If you use it in a
1200. program, you must acknowledge somewhere in your documentation that
1201. you've used the IJG code.
  1202. In legalese:
1203. The authors make NO WARRANTY or representation, either express or implied,
1204. with respect to this software, its quality, accuracy, merchantability, or
1205. fitness for a particular purpose. This software is provided "AS IS", and you,
1206. its user, assume the entire risk as to its quality and accuracy.
1207. This software is copyright (C) 1991-2011, Thomas G. Lane, Guido Vollbeding.
1208. All Rights Reserved except as specified below.
1209. Permission is hereby granted to use, copy, modify, and distribute this
1210. software (or portions thereof) for any purpose, without fee, subject to these
  1211. conditions:
1212. (1) If any part of the source code for this software is distributed, then this
1213. README file must be included, with this copyright and no-warranty notice
1214. unaltered; and any additions, deletions, or changes to the original files
1215. must be clearly indicated in accompanying documentation.
1216. (2) If only executable code is distributed, then the accompanying
1217. documentation must state that "this software is based in part on the work of
  1218. the Independent JPEG Group".
1219. (3) Permission for use of this software is granted only if the user accepts
1220. full responsibility for any undesirable consequences; the authors accept
1221. NO LIABILITY for damages of any kind.
1222. These conditions apply to any software derived from or based on the IJG code,
1223. not just to the unmodified library. If you use our work, you ought to
  1224. acknowledge us.
1225. Permission is NOT granted for the use of any IJG author's name or company name
1226. in advertising or publicity relating to this software or products derived from
1227. it. This software may be referred to only as "the Independent JPEG Group's
  1228. software".
1229. We specifically permit and encourage the use of this software as the basis of
1230. commercial products, provided that all warranty or liability claims are
1231. assumed by the product vendor.
1232. ansi2knr.c is included in this distribution by permission of L. Peter Deutsch,
1233. sole proprietor of its copyright holder, Aladdin Enterprises of Menlo Park, CA.
1234. ansi2knr.c is NOT covered by the above copyright and conditions, but instead
1235. by the usual distribution terms of the Free Software Foundation; principally,
1236. that you must include source code if you redistribute it. (See the file
1237. ansi2knr.c for full details.) However, since ansi2knr.c is not needed as part
1238. of any program generated from the IJG code, this does not limit you more than
  1239. the foregoing paragraphs do.
1240. The Unix configuration script "configure" was produced with GNU Autoconf.
1241. It is copyright by the Free Software Foundation but is freely distributable.
1242. The same holds for its supporting scripts (config.guess, config.sub,
1243. ltmain.sh). Another support script, install-sh, is copyright by X Consortium
1244. but is also freely distributable.
1245. The IJG distribution formerly included code to read and write GIF files.
1246. To avoid entanglement with the Unisys LZW patent, GIF reading support has
1247. been removed altogether, and the GIF writer has been simplified to produce
1248. "uncompressed GIFs". This technique does not use the LZW algorithm; the
1249. resulting GIF files are larger than usual, but are readable by all standard
  1250. GIF decoders.
1251. We are required to state that
1252. "The Graphics Interchange Format(c) is the Copyright property of
1253. CompuServe Incorporated. GIF(sm) is a Service Mark property of
  1254. CompuServe Incorporated."
  1255. REFERENCES
  1256. ==========
1257. We recommend reading one or more of these references before trying to
1258. understand the innards of the JPEG software.
1259. The best short technical introduction to the JPEG compression algorithm is
1260. Wallace, Gregory K. "The JPEG Still Picture Compression Standard",
1261. Communications of the ACM, April 1991 (vol. 34 no. 4), pp. 30-44.
1262. (Adjacent articles in that issue discuss MPEG motion picture compression,
1263. applications of JPEG, and related topics.) If you don't have the CACM issue
1264. handy, a PostScript file containing a revised version of Wallace's article is
1265. available at http://www.ijg.org/files/wallace.ps.gz. The file (actually
1266. a preprint for an article that appeared in IEEE Trans. Consumer Electronics)
1267. omits the sample images that appeared in CACM, but it includes corrections
1268. and some added material. Note: the Wallace article is copyright ACM and IEEE,
1269. and it may not be used for commercial purposes.
1270. A somewhat less technical, more leisurely introduction to JPEG can be found in
1271. "The Data Compression Book" by Mark Nelson and Jean-loup Gailly, published by
1272. M&T Books (New York), 2nd ed. 1996, ISBN 1-55851-434-1. This book provides
1273. good explanations and example C code for a multitude of compression methods
1274. including JPEG. It is an excellent source if you are comfortable reading C
1275. code but don't know much about data compression in general. The book's JPEG
1276. sample code is far from industrial-strength, but when you are ready to look
1277. at a full implementation, you've got one here...
1278. The best currently available description of JPEG is the textbook "JPEG Still
1279. Image Data Compression Standard" by William B. Pennebaker and Joan L.
1280. Mitchell, published by Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1993, ISBN 0-442-01272-1.
1281. Price US$59.95, 638 pp. The book includes the complete text of the ISO JPEG
1282. standards (DIS 10918-1 and draft DIS 10918-2).
1283. Although this is by far the most detailed and comprehensive exposition of
1284. JPEG publicly available, we point out that it is still missing an explanation
1285. of the most essential properties and algorithms of the underlying DCT
  1286. technology.
1287. If you think that you know about DCT-based JPEG after reading this book,
1288. then you are in delusion. The real fundamentals and corresponding potential
1289. of DCT-based JPEG are not publicly known so far, and that is the reason for
1290. all the mistaken developments taking place in the image coding domain.
1291. The original JPEG standard is divided into two parts, Part 1 being the actual
1292. specification, while Part 2 covers compliance testing methods. Part 1 is
1293. titled "Digital Compression and Coding of Continuous-tone Still Images,
1294. Part 1: Requirements and guidelines" and has document numbers ISO/IEC IS
1295. 10918-1, ITU-T T.81. Part 2 is titled "Digital Compression and Coding of
1296. Continuous-tone Still Images, Part 2: Compliance testing" and has document
  1297. numbers ISO/IEC IS 10918-2, ITU-T T.83.
1298. IJG JPEG 8 introduces an implementation of the JPEG SmartScale extension
1299. which is specified in a contributed document at ITU and ISO with title "ITU-T
1300. JPEG-Plus Proposal for Extending ITU-T T.81 for Advanced Image Coding", April
1301. 2006, Geneva, Switzerland. The latest version of the document is Revision 3.
1302. The JPEG standard does not specify all details of an interchangeable file
1303. format. For the omitted details we follow the "JFIF" conventions, revision
1304. 1.02. JFIF 1.02 has been adopted as an Ecma International Technical Report
1305. and thus received a formal publication status. It is available as a free
1306. download in PDF format from
  1307. http://www.ecma-international.org/publications/techreports/E-TR-098.htm.
1308. A PostScript version of the JFIF document is available at
1309. http://www.ijg.org/files/jfif.ps.gz. There is also a plain text version at
1310. http://www.ijg.org/files/jfif.txt.gz, but it is missing the figures.
1311. The TIFF 6.0 file format specification can be obtained by FTP from
1312. ftp://ftp.sgi.com/graphics/tiff/TIFF6.ps.gz. The JPEG incorporation scheme
1313. found in the TIFF 6.0 spec of 3-June-92 has a number of serious problems.
1314. IJG does not recommend use of the TIFF 6.0 design (TIFF Compression tag 6).
1315. Instead, we recommend the JPEG design proposed by TIFF Technical Note #2
1316. (Compression tag 7). Copies of this Note can be obtained from
1317. http://www.ijg.org/files/. It is expected that the next revision
1318. of the TIFF spec will replace the 6.0 JPEG design with the Note's design.
1319. Although IJG's own code does not support TIFF/JPEG, the free libtiff library
1320. uses our library to implement TIFF/JPEG per the Note.

  1337. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
  1338. ===============
1339. Thank to Juergen Bruder for providing me with a copy of the common DCT
1340. algorithm article, only to find out that I had come to the same result
1341. in a more direct and comprehensible way with a more generative approach.
1342. Thank to Istvan Sebestyen and Joan L. Mitchell for inviting me to the
1343. ITU JPEG (Study Group 16) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
1344. Thank to Thomas Wiegand and Gary Sullivan for inviting me to the
1345. Joint Video Team (MPEG & ITU) meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
1346. Thank to John Korejwa and Massimo Ballerini for inviting me to
1347. fruitful consultations in Boston, MA and Milan, Italy.
1348. Thank to Hendrik Elstner, Roland Fassauer, Simone Zuck, Guenther
1349. Maier-Gerber, Walter Stoeber, Fred Schmitz, and Norbert Braunagel
  1350. for corresponding business development.
1351. Thank to Nico Zschach and Dirk Stelling of the technical support team
1352. at the Digital Images company in Halle for providing me with extra
  1353. equipment for configuration tests.
1354. Thank to Richard F. Lyon (then of Foveon Inc.) for fruitful
1355. communication about JPEG configuration in Sigma Photo Pro software.
1356. Thank to Andrew Finkenstadt for hosting the ijg.org site.
1357. Last but not least special thank to Thomas G. Lane for the original
1358. design and development of this singular software package.
  1359. FILE FORMAT WARS
  1360. ================
1361. The ISO JPEG standards committee actually promotes different formats like
1362. "JPEG 2000" or "JPEG XR" which are incompatible with original DCT-based
1363. JPEG and which are based on faulty technologies. IJG therefore does not
1364. and will not support such momentary mistakes (see REFERENCES).
1365. We have little or no sympathy for the promotion of these formats. Indeed,
1366. one of the original reasons for developing this free software was to help
1367. force convergence on common, interoperable format standards for JPEG files.
1368. Don't use an incompatible file format!
1369. (In any case, our decoder will remain capable of reading existing JPEG
  1370. image files indefinitely.)
  1371. TO DO
  1372. =====
1373. Version 8 is the first release of a new generation JPEG standard
1374. to overcome the limitations of the original JPEG specification.
1375. More features are being prepared for coming releases...
1376. Please send bug reports, offers of help, etc. to [email protected].

1586. The Mesa distribution consists of several components. Different copyrights and
1587. licenses apply to different components. For example, GLUT is copyrighted by
1588. Mark Kilgard, some demo programs are copyrighted by SGI, some of the Mesa
1589. device drivers are copyrighted by their authors. See below for a list of Mesa's
1590. main components and the license for each.
1591. The core Mesa library is licensed according to the terms of the MIT license.
1592. This allows integration with the XFree86, Xorg and DRI projects.
1593. The default Mesa license is as follows:
1594. Copyright (C) 1999-2007 Brian Paul All Rights Reserved.

1635. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USE, REPRODUCTION, AND DISTRIBUTION
  1636. 1. Definitions.
1637. "License" shall mean the terms and conditions for use, reproduction,
1638. and distribution as defined by Sections 1 through 9 of this document.
1639. "Licensor" shall mean the copyright owner or entity authorized by
1640. the copyright owner that is granting the License.
1641. "Legal Entity" shall mean the union of the acting entity and all
1642. other entities that control, are controlled by, or are under common
1643. control with that entity. For the purposes of this definition,
1644. "control" means (i) the power, direct or indirect, to cause the
1645. direction or management of such entity, whether by contract or
1646. otherwise, or (ii) ownership of fifty percent (50%) or more of the
1647. outstanding shares, or (iii) beneficial ownership of such entity.
1648. "You" (or "Your") shall mean an individual or Legal Entity
1649. exercising permissions granted by this License.
1650. "Source" form shall mean the preferred form for making modifications,
1651. including but not limited to software source code, documentation
  1652. source, and configuration files.
1653. "Object" form shall mean any form resulting from mechanical
1654. transformation or translation of a Source form, including but
1655. not limited to compiled object code, generated documentation,
1656. and conversions to other media types.
1657. "Work" shall mean the work of authorship, whether in Source or
1658. Object form, made available under the License, as indicated by a
1659. copyright notice that is included in or attached to the work
1660. (an example is provided in the Appendix below).
1661. "Derivative Works" shall mean any work, whether in Source or Object
1662. form, that is based on (or derived from) the Work and for which the
1663. editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications
1664. represent, as a whole, an original work of authorship. For the purposes
1665. of this License, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain
1666. separable from, or merely link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of,
1667. the Work and Derivative Works thereof.
1668. "Contribution" shall mean any work of authorship, including
1669. the original version of the Work and any modifications or additions
1670. to that Work or Derivative Works thereof, that is intentionally
1671. submitted to Licensor for inclusion in the Work by the copyright owner
1672. or by an individual or Legal Entity authorized to submit on behalf of
1673. the copyright owner. For the purposes of this definition, "submitted"
1674. means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent
1675. to the Licensor or its representatives, including but not limited to
1676. communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems,
1677. and issue tracking systems that are managed by, or on behalf of, the
1678. Licensor for the purpose of discussing and improving the Work, but
1679. excluding communication that is conspicuously marked or otherwise
1680. designated in writing by the copyright owner as "Not a Contribution."
1681. "Contributor" shall mean Licensor and any individual or Legal Entity
1682. on behalf of whom a Contribution has been received by Licensor and
1683. subsequently incorporated within the Work.
1684. 2. Grant of Copyright License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
1685. this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
  1686. worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
1687. copyright license to reproduce, prepare Derivative Works of,
1688. publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute the
1689. Work and such Derivative Works in Source or Object form.
1690. 3. Grant of Patent License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
1691. this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
  1692. worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
1693. (except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made,
1694. use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Work,
1695. where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable
1696. by such Contributor that are necessarily infringed by their
1697. Contribution(s) alone or by combination of their Contribution(s)
1698. with the Work to which such Contribution(s) was submitted. If You
1699. institute patent litigation against any entity (including a
1700. cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work
1701. or a Contribution incorporated within the Work constitutes direct
1702. or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses
1703. granted to You under this License for that Work shall terminate
1704. as of the date such litigation is filed.
1705. 4. Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the
1706. Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or without
1707. modifications, and in Source or Object form, provided that You
  1708. meet the following conditions:
1709. (a) You must give any other recipients of the Work or
1710. Derivative Works a copy of this License; and
1711. (b) You must cause any modified files to carry prominent notices
1712. stating that You changed the files; and
1713. (c) You must retain, in the Source form of any Derivative Works
1714. that You distribute, all copyright, patent, trademark, and
1715. attribution notices from the Source form of the Work,
1716. excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of
  1717. the Derivative Works; and
1718. (d) If the Work includes a "NOTICE" text file as part of its
1719. distribution, then any Derivative Works that You distribute must
1720. include a readable copy of the attribution notices contained
1721. within such NOTICE file, excluding those notices that do not
1722. pertain to any part of the Derivative Works, in at least one
1723. of the following places: within a NOTICE text file distributed
1724. as part of the Derivative Works; within the Source form or
1725. documentation, if provided along with the Derivative Works; or,
1726. within a display generated by the Derivative Works, if and
1727. wherever such third-party notices normally appear. The contents
1728. of the NOTICE file are for informational purposes only and
1729. do not modify the License. You may add Your own attribution
1730. notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside
1731. or as an addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided
1732. that such additional attribution notices cannot be construed
  1733. as modifying the License.
1734. You may add Your own copyright statement to Your modifications and
1735. may provide additional or different license terms and conditions
1736. for use, reproduction, or distribution of Your modifications, or
1737. for any such Derivative Works as a whole, provided Your use,
1738. reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with
1739. the conditions stated in this License.
1740. 5. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise,
1741. any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion in the Work
1742. by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of
1743. this License, without any additional terms or conditions.
1744. Notwithstanding the above, nothing herein shall supersede or modify
1745. the terms of any separate license agreement you may have executed
1746. with Licensor regarding such Contributions.
1747. 6. Trademarks. This License does not grant permission to use the trade
1748. names, trademarks, service marks, or product names of the Licensor,
1749. except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the
1750. origin of the Work and reproducing the content of the NOTICE file.
1751. 7. Disclaimer of Warranty. Unless required by applicable law or
1752. agreed to in writing, Licensor provides the Work (and each
1753. Contributor provides its Contributions) on an "AS IS" BASIS,
1754. WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or

1756. of TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, or FITNESS FOR A
1757. PARTICULAR PURPOSE. You are solely responsible for determining the
1758. appropriateness of using or redistributing the Work and assume any
1759. risks associated with Your exercise of permissions under this License.
1760. 8. Limitation of Liability. In no event and under no legal theory,
1761. whether in tort (including negligence), contract, or otherwise,
1762. unless required by applicable law (such as deliberate and grossly
1763. negligent acts) or agreed to in writing, shall any Contributor be
1764. liable to You for damages, including any direct, indirect, special,
1765. incidental, or consequential damages of any character arising as a
1766. result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the
1767. Work (including but not limited to damages for loss of goodwill,
1768. work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any and all
1769. other commercial damages or losses), even if such Contributor
1770. has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
1771. 9. Accepting Warranty or Additional Liability. While redistributing
1772. the Work or Derivative Works thereof, You may choose to offer,
1773. and charge a fee for, acceptance of support, warranty, indemnity,
1774. or other liability obligations and/or rights consistent with this
1775. License. However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only
1776. on Your own behalf and on Your sole responsibility, not on behalf
1777. of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify,
1778. defend, and hold each Contributor harmless for any liability
1779. incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason
1780. of your accepting any such warranty or additional liability.

1921. GNU LIBRARY GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
  1922. Version 2, June 1991
1923. Copyright (C) 1991 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
1924. 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA
1925. Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies
1926. of this license document, but changing it is not allowed.
1927. [This is the first released version of the library GPL. It is
1928. numbered 2 because it goes with version 2 of the ordinary GPL.]
  1929. Preamble
1930. The licenses for most software are designed to take away your
1931. freedom to share and change it. By contrast, the GNU General Public
1932. Licenses are intended to guarantee your freedom to share and change
1933. free software--to make sure the software is free for all its users.
1934. This license, the Library General Public License, applies to some
1935. specially designated Free Software Foundation software, and to any
1936. other libraries whose authors decide to use it. You can use it for
  1937. your libraries, too.
1938. When we speak of free software, we are referring to freedom, not
1939. price. Our General Public Licenses are designed to make sure that you
1940. have the freedom to distribute copies of free software (and charge for
1941. this service if you wish), that you receive source code or can get it
1942. if you want it, that you can change the software or use pieces of it
1943. in new free programs; and that you know you can do these things.
1944. To protect your rights, we need to make restrictions that forbid
1945. anyone to deny you these rights or to ask you to surrender the rights.
1946. These restrictions translate to certain responsibilities for you if
1947. you distribute copies of the library, or if you modify it.
1948. For example, if you distribute copies of the library, whether gratis
1949. or for a fee, you must give the recipients all the rights that we gave
1950. you. You must make sure that they, too, receive or can get the source
1951. code. If you link a program with the library, you must provide
1952. complete object files to the recipients so that they can relink them
1953. with the library, after making changes to the library and recompiling
1954. it. And you must show them these terms so they know their rights.
1955. Our method of protecting your rights has two steps: (1) copyright
1956. the library, and (2) offer you this license which gives you legal
1957. permission to copy, distribute and/or modify the library.
1958. Also, for each distributor's protection, we want to make certain
1959. that everyone understands that there is no warranty for this free
1960. library. If the library is modified by someone else and passed on, we
1961. want its recipients to know that what they have is not the original
1962. version, so that any problems introduced by others will not reflect on
  1963. the original authors' reputations.
1964. Finally, any free program is threatened constantly by software
1965. patents. We wish to avoid the danger that companies distributing free
1966. software will individually obtain patent licenses, thus in effect
1967. transforming the program into proprietary software. To prevent this,
1968. we have made it clear that any patent must be licensed for everyone's
1969. free use or not licensed at all.
1970. Most GNU software, including some libraries, is covered by the ordinary
1971. GNU General Public License, which was designed for utility programs. This
1972. license, the GNU Library General Public License, applies to certain
1973. designated libraries. This license is quite different from the ordinary
1974. one; be sure to read it in full, and don't assume that anything in it is
1975. the same as in the ordinary license.
1976. The reason we have a separate public license for some libraries is that
1977. they blur the distinction we usually make between modifying or adding to a
1978. program and simply using it. Linking a program with a library, without
1979. changing the library, is in some sense simply using the library, and is
1980. analogous to running a utility program or application program. However, in
1981. a textual and legal sense, the linked executable is a combined work, a
1982. derivative of the original library, and the ordinary General Public License
  1983. treats it as such.
1984. Because of this blurred distinction, using the ordinary General
1985. Public License for libraries did not effectively promote software
1986. sharing, because most developers did not use the libraries. We
1987. concluded that weaker conditions might promote sharing better.
1988. However, unrestricted linking of non-free programs would deprive the
1989. users of those programs of all benefit from the free status of the
1990. libraries themselves. This Library General Public License is intended to
1991. permit developers of non-free programs to use free libraries, while
1992. preserving your freedom as a user of such programs to change the free
1993. libraries that are incorporated in them. (We have not seen how to achieve
1994. this as regards changes in header files, but we have achieved it as regards
1995. changes in the actual functions of the Library.) The hope is that this
1996. will lead to faster development of free libraries.
1997. The precise terms and conditions for copying, distribution and
1998. modification follow. Pay close attention to the difference between a
1999. "work based on the library" and a "work that uses the library". The
2000. former contains code derived from the library, while the latter only
2001. works together with the library.
2002. Note that it is possible for a library to be covered by the ordinary
2003. General Public License rather than by this special one.
2004. GNU LIBRARY GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
2005. TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COPYING, DISTRIBUTION AND MODIFICATION
2006. 0. This License Agreement applies to any software library which
2007. contains a notice placed by the copyright holder or other authorized
2008. party saying it may be distributed under the terms of this Library
2009. General Public License (also called "this License"). Each licensee is
  2010. addressed as "you".
2011. A "library" means a collection of software functions and/or data
2012. prepared so as to be conveniently linked with application programs
2013. (which use some of those functions and data) to form executables.
2014. The "Library", below, refers to any such software library or work
2015. which has been distributed under these terms. A "work based on the
2016. Library" means either the Library or any derivative work under
2017. copyright law: that is to say, a work containing the Library or a
2018. portion of it, either verbatim or with modifications and/or translated
2019. straightforwardly into another language. (Hereinafter, translation is
2020. included without limitation in the term "modification".)
2021. "Source code" for a work means the preferred form of the work for
2022. making modifications to it. For a library, complete source code means
2023. all the source code for all modules it contains, plus any associated
2024. interface definition files, plus the scripts used to control compilation
2025. and installation of the library.
2026. Activities other than copying, distribution and modification are not
2027. covered by this License; they are outside its scope. The act of
2028. running a program using the Library is not restricted, and output from
2029. such a program is covered only if its contents constitute a work based
2030. on the Library (independent of the use of the Library in a tool for
2031. writing it). Whether that is true depends on what the Library does
2032. and what the program that uses the Library does.
2033. 1. You may copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Library's
2034. complete source code as you receive it, in any medium, provided that
2035. you conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an
2036. appropriate copyright notice and disclaimer of warranty; keep intact
2037. all the notices that refer to this License and to the absence of any
2038. warranty; and distribute a copy of this License along with the
  2039. Library.
2040. You may charge a fee for the physical act of transferring a copy,
2041. and you may at your option offer warranty protection in exchange for a
  2042. fee.
2043. 2. You may modify your copy or copies of the Library or any portion
2044. of it, thus forming a work based on the Library, and copy and
2045. distribute such modifications or work under the terms of Section 1
2046. above, provided that you also meet all of these conditions:
2047. a) The modified work must itself be a software library.
2048. b) You must cause the files modified to carry prominent notices
2049. stating that you changed the files and the date of any change.
2050. c) You must cause the whole of the work to be licensed at no
2051. charge to all third parties under the terms of this License.
2052. d) If a facility in the modified Library refers to a function or a
2053. table of data to be supplied by an application program that uses
2054. the facility, other than as an argument passed when the facility
2055. is invoked, then you must make a good faith effort to ensure that,
2056. in the event an application does not supply such function or
2057. table, the facility still operates, and performs whatever part of
  2058. its purpose remains meaningful.
2059. (For example, a function in a library to compute square roots has
2060. a purpose that is entirely well-defined independent of the
2061. application. Therefore, Subsection 2d requires that any
2062. application-supplied function or table used by this function must
2063. be optional: if the application does not supply it, the square
2064. root function must still compute square roots.)
2065. These requirements apply to the modified work as a whole. If
2066. identifiable sections of that work are not derived from the Library,
2067. and can be reasonably considered independent and separate works in
2068. themselves, then this License, and its terms, do not apply to those
2069. sections when you distribute them as separate works. But when you
2070. distribute the same sections as part of a whole which is a work based
2071. on the Library, the distribution of the whole must be on the terms of
2072. this License, whose permissions for other licensees extend to the
2073. entire whole, and thus to each and every part regardless of who wrote
  2074. it.
2075. Thus, it is not the intent of this section to claim rights or contest
2076. your rights to work written entirely by you; rather, the intent is to
2077. exercise the right to control the distribution of derivative or
2078. collective works based on the Library.
2079. In addition, mere aggregation of another work not based on the Library
2080. with the Library (or with a work based on the Library) on a volume of
2081. a storage or distribution medium does not bring the other work under
2082. the scope of this License.
2083. 3. You may opt to apply the terms of the ordinary GNU General Public
2084. License instead of this License to a given copy of the Library. To do
2085. this, you must alter all the notices that refer to this License, so
2086. that they refer to the ordinary GNU General Public License, version 2,
2087. instead of to this License. (If a newer version than version 2 of the
2088. ordinary GNU General Public License has appeared, then you can specify
2089. that version instead if you wish.) Do not make any other change in
  2090. these notices.
2091. Once this change is made in a given copy, it is irreversible for
2092. that copy, so the ordinary GNU General Public License applies to all
2093. subsequent copies and derivative works made from that copy.
2094. This option is useful when you wish to copy part of the code of
2095. the Library into a program that is not a library.
2096. 4. You may copy and distribute the Library (or a portion or
2097. derivative of it, under Section 2) in object code or executable form
2098. under the terms of Sections 1 and 2 above provided that you accompany
2099. it with the complete corresponding machine-readable source code, which
2100. must be distributed under the terms of Sections 1 and 2 above on a
2101. medium customarily used for software interchange.
2102. If distribution of object code is made by offering access to copy
2103. from a designated place, then offering equivalent access to copy the
2104. source code from the same place satisfies the requirement to
2105. distribute the source code, even though third parties are not
2106. compelled to copy the source along with the object code.
2107. 5. A program that contains no derivative of any portion of the
2108. Library, but is designed to work with the Library by being compiled or
2109. linked with it, is called a "work that uses the Library". Such a
2110. work, in isolation, is not a derivative work of the Library, and
2111. therefore falls outside the scope of this License.
2112. However, linking a "work that uses the Library" with the Library
2113. creates an executable that is a derivative of the Library (because it
2114. contains portions of the Library), rather than a "work that uses the
2115. library". The executable is therefore covered by this License.
2116. Section 6 states terms for distribution of such executables.
2117. When a "work that uses the Library" uses material from a header file
2118. that is part of the Library, the object code for the work may be a
2119. derivative work of the Library even though the source code is not.
2120. Whether this is true is especially significant if the work can be
2121. linked without the Library, or if the work is itself a library. The
2122. threshold for this to be true is not precisely defined by law.
2123. If such an object file uses only numerical parameters, data
2124. structure layouts and accessors, and small macros and small inline
2125. functions (ten lines or less in length), then the use of the object
2126. file is unrestricted, regardless of whether it is legally a derivative
2127. work. (Executables containing this object code plus portions of the
2128. Library will still fall under Section 6.)
2129. Otherwise, if the work is a derivative of the Library, you may
2130. distribute the object code for the work under the terms of Section 6.
2131. Any executables containing that work also fall under Section 6,
2132. whether or not they are linked directly with the Library itself.
2133. 6. As an exception to the Sections above, you may also compile or
2134. link a "work that uses the Library" with the Library to produce a
2135. work containing portions of the Library, and distribute that work
2136. under terms of your choice, provided that the terms permit
2137. modification of the work for the customer's own use and reverse
2138. engineering for debugging such modifications.
2139. You must give prominent notice with each copy of the work that the
2140. Library is used in it and that the Library and its use are covered by
2141. this License. You must supply a copy of this License. If the work
2142. during execution displays copyright notices, you must include the
2143. copyright notice for the Library among them, as well as a reference
2144. directing the user to the copy of this License. Also, you must do one
  2145. of these things:
2146. a) Accompany the work with the complete corresponding
2147. machine-readable source code for the Library including whatever
2148. changes were used in the work (which must be distributed under
2149. Sections 1 and 2 above); and, if the work is an executable linked
2150. with the Library, with the complete machine-readable "work that
2151. uses the Library", as object code and/or source code, so that the
2152. user can modify the Library and then relink to produce a modified
2153. executable containing the modified Library. (It is understood
2154. that the user who changes the contents of definitions files in the
2155. Library will not necessarily be able to recompile the application
2156. to use the modified definitions.)
2157. b) Accompany the work with a written offer, valid for at
2158. least three years, to give the same user the materials
2159. specified in Subsection 6a, above, for a charge no more
2160. than the cost of performing this distribution.
2161. c) If distribution of the work is made by offering access to copy
2162. from a designated place, offer equivalent access to copy the above
2163. specified materials from the same place.
2164. d) Verify that the user has already received a copy of these
2165. materials or that you have already sent this user a copy.
2166. For an executable, the required form of the "work that uses the
2167. Library" must include any data and utility programs needed for
2168. reproducing the executable from it. However, as a special exception,
2169. the source code distributed need not include anything that is normally
2170. distributed (in either source or binary form) with the major
2171. components (compiler, kernel, and so on) of the operating system on
2172. which the executable runs, unless that component itself accompanies
  2173. the executable.
2174. It may happen that this requirement contradicts the license
2175. restrictions of other proprietary libraries that do not normally
2176. accompany the operating system. Such a contradiction means you cannot
2177. use both them and the Library together in an executable that you
  2178. distribute.
2179. 7. You may place library facilities that are a work based on the
2180. Library side-by-side in a single library together with other library
2181. facilities not covered by this License, and distribute such a combined
2182. library, provided that the separate distribution of the work based on
2183. the Library and of the other library facilities is otherwise
2184. permitted, and provided that you do these two things:
2185. a) Accompany the combined library with a copy of the same work
2186. based on the Library, uncombined with any other library
2187. facilities. This must be distributed under the terms of the
  2188. Sections above.
2189. b) Give prominent notice with the combined library of the fact
2190. that part of it is a work based on the Library, and explaining
2191. where to find the accompanying uncombined form of the same work.
2192. 8. You may not copy, modify, sublicense, link with, or distribute
2193. the Library except as expressly provided under this License. Any
2194. attempt otherwise to copy, modify, sublicense, link with, or
2195. distribute the Library is void, and will automatically terminate your
2196. rights under this License. However, parties who have received copies,
2197. or rights, from you under this License will not have their licenses
2198. terminated so long as such parties remain in full compliance.
2199. 9. You are not required to accept this License, since you have not
2200. signed it. However, nothing else grants you permission to modify or
2201. distribute the Library or its derivative works. These actions are
2202. prohibited by law if you do not accept this License. Therefore, by
2203. modifying or distributing the Library (or any work based on the
2204. Library), you indicate your acceptance of this License to do so, and
2205. all its terms and conditions for copying, distributing or modifying
2206. the Library or works based on it.
2207. 10. Each time you redistribute the Library (or any work based on the
2208. Library), the recipient automatically receives a license from the
2209. original licensor to copy, distribute, link with or modify the Library
2210. subject to these terms and conditions. You may not impose any further
2211. restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted herein.
2212. You are not responsible for enforcing compliance by third parties to
  2213. this License.
2214. 11. If, as a consequence of a court judgment or allegation of patent
2215. infringement or for any other reason (not limited to patent issues),
2216. conditions are imposed on you (whether by court order, agreement or
2217. otherwise) that contradict the conditions of this License, they do not
2218. excuse you from the conditions of this License. If you cannot
2219. distribute so as to satisfy simultaneously your obligations under this
2220. License and any other pertinent obligations, then as a consequence you
2221. may not distribute the Library at all. For example, if a patent
2222. license would not permit royalty-free redistribution of the Library by
2223. all those who receive copies directly or indirectly through you, then
2224. the only way you could satisfy both it and this License would be to
2225. refrain entirely from distribution of the Library.
2226. If any portion of this section is held invalid or unenforceable under any
2227. particular circumstance, the balance of the section is intended to apply,
2228. and the section as a whole is intended to apply in other circumstances.
2229. It is not the purpose of this section to induce you to infringe any
2230. patents or other property right claims or to contest validity of any
2231. such claims; this section has the sole purpose of protecting the
2232. integrity of the free software distribution system which is
2233. implemented by public license practices. Many people have made
2234. generous contributions to the wide range of software distributed
2235. through that system in reliance on consistent application of that
2236. system; it is up to the author/donor to decide if he or she is willing
2237. to distribute software through any other system and a licensee cannot
  2238. impose that choice.
2239. This section is intended to make thoroughly clear what is believed to
2240. be a consequence of the rest of this License.
2241. 12. If the distribution and/or use of the Library is restricted in
2242. certain countries either by patents or by copyrighted interfaces, the
2243. original copyright holder who places the Library under this License may add
2244. an explicit geographical distribution limitation excluding those countries,
2245. so that distribution is permitted only in or among countries not thus
2246. excluded. In such case, this License incorporates the limitation as if
2247. written in the body of this License.
2248. 13. The Free Software Foundation may publish revised and/or new
2249. versions of the Library General Public License from time to time.
2250. Such new versions will be similar in spirit to the present version,
2251. but may differ in detail to address new problems or concerns.
2252. Each version is given a distinguishing version number. If the Library
2253. specifies a version number of this License which applies to it and
2254. "any later version", you have the option of following the terms and
2255. conditions either of that version or of any later version published by
2256. the Free Software Foundation. If the Library does not specify a
2257. license version number, you may choose any version ever published by
  2258. the Free Software Foundation.
2259. 14. If you wish to incorporate parts of the Library into other free
2260. programs whose distribution conditions are incompatible with these,
2261. write to the author to ask for permission. For software which is
2262. copyrighted by the Free Software Foundation, write to the Free
2263. Software Foundation; we sometimes make exceptions for this. Our
2264. decision will be guided by the two goals of preserving the free status
2265. of all derivatives of our free software and of promoting the sharing
2266. and reuse of software generally.
  2267. NO WARRANTY
2268. 15. BECAUSE THE LIBRARY IS LICENSED FREE OF CHARGE, THERE IS NO
2269. WARRANTY FOR THE LIBRARY, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
2270. EXCEPT WHEN OTHERWISE STATED IN WRITING THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND/OR
2271. OTHER PARTIES PROVIDE THE LIBRARY "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY
2272. KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE
2273. IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
2274. PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE
2275. LIBRARY IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE LIBRARY PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME
2276. THE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR OR CORRECTION.
2277. 16. IN NO EVENT UNLESS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW OR AGREED TO IN
2278. WRITING WILL ANY COPYRIGHT HOLDER, OR ANY OTHER PARTY WHO MAY MODIFY
2279. AND/OR REDISTRIBUTE THE LIBRARY AS PERMITTED ABOVE, BE LIABLE TO YOU
2280. FOR DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR
2281. CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE
2282. LIBRARY (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA OR DATA BEING
2283. RENDERED INACCURATE OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES OR A
2284. FAILURE OF THE LIBRARY TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER SOFTWARE), EVEN IF
2285. SUCH HOLDER OR OTHER PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH
  2286. DAMAGES.
2287. END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
2288. Appendix: How to Apply These Terms to Your New Libraries
2289. If you develop a new library, and you want it to be of the greatest
2290. possible use to the public, we recommend making it free software that
2291. everyone can redistribute and change. You can do so by permitting
2292. redistribution under these terms (or, alternatively, under the terms of the
  2293. ordinary General Public License).
2294. To apply these terms, attach the following notices to the library. It is
2295. safest to attach them to the start of each source file to most effectively
2296. convey the exclusion of warranty; and each file should have at least the
2297. "copyright" line and a pointer to where the full notice is found.
2298. <one line to give the library's name and a brief idea of what it does.>
  2299. Copyright (C) <year> <name of author>
2300. This library is free software; you can redistribute it and/or
2301. modify it under the terms of the GNU Library General Public
2302. License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either
2303. version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.
2304. This library is distributed in the hope that it will be useful,
2305. but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of
2306. MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. See the GNU
2307. Library General Public License for more details.
2308. You should have received a copy of the GNU Library General Public
2309. License along with this library; if not, write to the Free
2310. Software Foundation, Inc., 675 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA.
2311. Also add information on how to contact you by electronic and paper mail.
2312. You should also get your employer (if you work as a programmer) or your
2313. school, if any, to sign a "copyright disclaimer" for the library, if
2314. necessary. Here is a sample; alter the names:
2315. Yoyodyne, Inc., hereby disclaims all copyright interest in the
2316. library `Frob' (a library for tweaking knobs) written by James Random Hacker.

  2459. ------------
2460. PCRE is a library of functions to support regular expressions whose syntax
2461. and semantics are as close as possible to those of the Perl 5 language.
2462. Release 7 of PCRE is distributed under the terms of the "BSD" licence, as
2463. specified below. The documentation for PCRE, supplied in the "doc"
2464. directory, is distributed under the same terms as the software itself.
2465. The basic library functions are written in C and are freestanding. Also
2466. included in the distribution is a set of C++ wrapper functions.

2664. OSSP uuid - Universally Unique Identifier
  2665. Version 1.6.2 (04-Jul-2008)
  2666. ABSTRACT
2667. OSSP uuid is a ISO-C:1999 application programming interface (API)
2668. and corresponding command line interface (CLI) for the generation of
  2669. DCE 1.1, ISO/IEC 11578:1996 and IETF RFC-4122 compliant Universally
2670. Unique Identifier (UUID). It supports DCE 1.1 variant UUIDs of version
2671. 1 (time and node based), version 3 (name based, MD5), version 4
2672. (random number based) and version 5 (name based, SHA-1). Additional
2673. API bindings are provided for the languages ISO-C++:1998, Perl:5 and
2674. PHP:4/5. Optional backward compatibility exists for the ISO-C DCE-1.1
  2675. and Perl Data::UUID APIs.
2676. UUIDs are 128 bit numbers which are intended to have a high likelihood
2677. of uniqueness over space and time and are computationally difficult
2678. to guess. They are globally unique identifiers which can be locally
2679. generated without contacting a global registration authority. UUIDs
2680. are intended as unique identifiers for both mass tagging objects
2681. with an extremely short lifetime and to reliably identifying very
2682. persistent objects across a network.
